Tyson Foods | Freezer Warehouse Expansion

Scope of Work

Vestal Corporation provided FEL 1 through FEL 3 (35% design) architecture and engineering services for a 54,720-square-foot freezer warehouse expansion at Tyson Foods’ prepared foods plant in Sedalia, Missouri.

The project included the design of a new freezer warehouse and poultry holding building, demolition of an existing spiral freezer structure, and upgrades to poultry cooling and heating systems. Site improvements included a new creek bridge crossing, expanded truck parking and circulation reconfiguration, a new scale house, and new truck and employee entrances.

Project Impact

The expansion increased cold storage capacity and improved site logistics while enhancing operational flow across Tyson Foods’ Sedalia facility.

Vestal’s FEL-driven approach provided a clear path forward for capital planning, site reconfiguration, and long-term production growth, supporting improved traffic management, operational efficiency, and scalable infrastructure within an active industrial environment.
