FUTURE ENGINEERS MEET REAL-WORLD LEADERSHIP

A highlight of the summer so far has been a special lunch and discussion with Vestal’s President, where interns had the unique opportunity to hear directly from a leader whose career reflects both deep technical expertise and visionary leadership. During this conversation, interns gained valuable perspective on navigating the AEC industry, not just as engineers and architects, but as future leaders.

The discussion touched on the importance of continuous learning, encouraging interns to actively seek opportunities to expand their technical knowledge throughout their careers. Also speaking to the role of efficiency and the use of lean practices, highlighting how reducing rework and improving processes can significantly impact project success. Beyond the technical aspects, explaining how effective resource management, high-quality execution, and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget all contribute to the overall profitability and long-term success of an organization.

Vestal is proud to welcome our Summer 2026 intern class, and we are excited to invest in the development of the next generation of engineers and architects. Each year, our internship program is designed to go far beyond day-to-day project exposure. It's an opportunity to build meaningful connections, gain real-world insight, and experience firsthand how collaboration drives success across the AEC industry.

From their first days with us, our interns have been immersed in Vestal’s culture of learning, mentorship, and innovation. We are passionate about equipping emerging professionals with the tools and experiences they need to grow, and we view this program as a critical part of shaping the future of our industry.

In addition, our interns participated in a comprehensive session with Vestal’s discipline leads.  These conversations provided a rare view of how our teams work together every day. Our leaders shared lessons learned from years of experience, offering guidance on technical excellence, career growth, and the importance of collaboration.

Through these sessions, interns were able to see how every discipline contributes a critical piece to the puzzle, and how true project success depends on seamless coordination between teams. They gained a deeper understanding of how engineers and architects rely on one another, integrating their expertise to bring complex projects to life with efficiency, precision, and creativity.

At Vestal, we believe that mentorship and knowledge-sharing are essential to building a stronger industry. Our interns are not only gaining technical experience, but also learning the value of teamwork, communication, and leadership, skills that will serve them well throughout their careers.

We are incredibly excited to support and guide this talented group throughout the summer and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in the future.

Welcome to Vestal, Summer 2026 interns—we’re glad you’re here!
